Text Box:  This sample weekend is a template upon which your weekend can be built. Pieces can be added or removed to meet the needs of your community. Monday—Friday events may be added for an additional fee.  Friday Night – In association with local clergy, Michael leads Kabbalat Shabbat and tells a story either based on the chosen theme of the weekend or something else apropos to the time.  Saturday Morning – Michael leads “Jr. Congo” the liveliest Junior Congregation event your community has ever seen. Following services the entire community gathers for “Lunch and Learn” with Michael. At lunch the community can choose text study, shira (singing) or storytelling.  Saturday Evening (depending upon the time of the year) – The youngsters of your community with their parents gather in their pajamas for a special event where everyone will learn to say “Laila Tov” instead of “Good Night.” Parents and children will go home with experience and the tools necessary to recreate this night after night in their own home. Sunday Morning – You may chose to have a school-wide event lead by Michael or teachers may gather for a very special in-service run by Michael. Lessons for the teachers can be on a variety of topics (discipline, teaching outside of the textbooks, teaching your passion, etc.). In association with your synagogue’s clergy and Educational Director additional appropriate topics can be chosen and developed.
